Disney movies are known for creating happily ever afters and fairytale endings. They make the impossible, possible, with a little help of Disney magic. Disney also is the culprit for all of those high date expectations one may have. I mean, Aladdin took Jasmine on a flying carpet ride, and Beast cleared out an entire ballroom for the night, just so he could twirl Belle around in that beautiful yellow dress. It does not get more perfect, and romantic than that. So, in light of Valentine’s Day, here’s my list of the top romantic Disney movie moments, in no particular order of course. Swoon on.
When the Beast plans the absolute perfect date night for Belle. I mean, a delicious dinner, followed by a night of dancing in a gorgeous grand ballroom… and how could I forget that beautiful yellow dress. Complete and utter perfection, it’s a tale as old as time.
When Flynn takes Rapunzel to see the floating lanterns gleam on her birthday. This was her dream, and he was willing to stop at nothing to help that dream come true for her. They were both able to see not only the light of the lanterns, but their love for each other.
When Eric prepares a day of adventure in town for Ariel, and ends the night with a romantic and swoon-worthy boat ride. The only thing that could have made this date better would be if he kissed her, sheesh! Oh well, I guess the boy was too shy.
When Tramp so graciously shares his delicious spaghetti and meatball dinner with Lady. It’s refreshing to find a guy now-a-day’s that is willing to share his food, especially that one single piece of spaghetti. Must have been something about that beautiful night.
When Aladdin surprises Jasmine with a magic carpet ride, and shows her a whole new world. Enough said.
When Prince Phillip joins Aurora in the woods mid-song, and sweeps her off her feet. He literally finishes her sentence for her, a complete stranger that he has only met once upon a dream. How romantic.
When Mickey Mouse trades his most beloved possession, his harmonica, to get Minnie Mouse the perfect Christmas present, a chain for her favorite watch in Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmas. Minnie Mouse, however, gave away her watch to get Mickey Mouse a case for his harmonica. This act of true love and kindness proves that it is the thought behind the gift that really shows how much you care about a person. The ultimate couple.
