Well, almost Halloween. Holiday’s are celebrated especially early here at Walt Disney World (I’m not kidding, we already have a Christmas merchandise item out!)
Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party will leave you saying, and singing, boo to you for the rest of the week, and perhaps the month. This special event takes place at the Magic Kingdom, and only people with a ticket to the event will be able to enter into the park for the duration. This party is the only time you will be allowed to wear costumes into the park, so dress up as your favorite Disney character!
MNSSHP gives you the opportunity to meet rare characters you cannot find anywhere else, including Jafar, Lotso, Cruella de Vil, The Old Hag, Jack Sparrow, the Seven Dwarf’s, the Queen of Hearts, and Jack Skellington and Sally. There are also numerous treat locations located around the park, where you are able to trick or treat and receive tons of free and teeth rotting candy. Aside from all of the trick or treating and character greetings, you can also find some things that are exclusive to Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, including merchandise and snacks! I got sucked into buying the MNSSHP long sleeve black shirt, and a ghost cupcake from Gaston’s Tavern!
You will be given a guide map upon entering the park with all the information about the party you could ever want to know, with a few surprises included. The map does not tell you where each character will be, so you have to guess (or ask a friendly Cast Member!) There is also a brand new stage show based on the popular Halloween film “Hocus Pocus,” featuring the Sanderson sisters! This show is a cannot miss, so make sure you fit this into your nightly schedule somewhere.
Last but most certainly not least, we have “Hallo-Wishes,” the Magic Kingdom firework show only during Mickey’s Not So Scary. These fireworks are spectacular, and in my opinion one of the best visual firework shows that Walt Disney World has to offer. Yes, “Wishes” will always be my favorite, but during “Hallo-Wishes,” the fireworks fully surround you (I’m serious, they are 180 degrees around the park!) I took a video of the finale of the “Hallo-Wishes” firework show, just to give you a little preview of what exactly I am talking about. I want you to be able to see this for yourself!
This party is fun for the whole family, and I am so happy I was able to experience this time of year at Walt Disney World. Halloween, and Villain, music is played all throughout the park, but my personal favorite is the way that Main Street lights up. Main Street lights up in sync with the Halloween music. I could stand there and watch that the entire time. Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party is definitely a great time to come out and socialize with grim grinning ghosts!
